X-ray emission from accretion shocks on CTTSs
Recent high spectral resolution (R=600) X-ray observations
of some Classical T-Tauri Stars (CTTSs) show the presence of
soft X-ray emission (E<0.8 keV) due to high density plasma (1011-1012
cm-3) at the temperature of 1-3 MK. This emission could be associated to
the shock-heated plasma at the base of the accretion column.
I will present an hydrodynamical and a magneto-hydrodynamical modelling of
the accretion shock aimed to investigate the origin of the soft X-ray
component emitted from CTTSs and some recent observational results related
to this issue.
